"Ted and Diane were great!!!! We had difficulty finding a marine surveyor for our 1988 Sea Ray Sundancer. After leaving several messages for various surveryors listed by our insurnace company, we had no response and proceeded to try to find our own surveryor. After contacting Ted and Diane via email, a response was received within an hour! Since we haven't had a marine survey before, we had no idea what to expect. Ted completely prepared us for what to expect and what we would need. Ted and Diane arrived on time at the site of the survey and were very thorough in completing all of the necessary inspections. Since we have plans to sell the boat in the future, we were offered inspection photos for use in the resell of the vessel. The inspection was returned to us within 24 hours and outlined all of the points that needed attention. I would highly recommend Greene Turtle Services to anyone! Thank you to both Ted and Diane for a wonderful experience!"

Marine surveys are to the marine industry what building inspections and home inspections are to the commercial and real estate industry. A marine survey is an independent inspection of a vessel and its equipment, based on a careful visual inspection of the accessible areas of the vessel and its structures as well as available equipment.
The survey typically has three stages:
The findings, conclusions, and recommendations are then presented in a written report so that you, your insurance company, and/or financier can make an informed decision regarding the vessel.
Why do I need a Marine Survey?
When you are buying a home you get a survey to provide you with peace of mind that the house is in good condition, contains all the features advertised, and it's worth at least what you are paying for it. This peace of mind is just as important when buying a boat. It may appear to be a once in a lifetime deal but is it really worth the money being asked?
A boat survey provides you the insight that you need to make an informed decision. The survey report highlights areas where immediate attention is needed and recommends future maintenance or upgrades. The report may also convince you that the boat is not for you and save you time and money.
Marine Surveys are not always for pre purchase. You may wish to have a boat surveyed as it reaches an age where repairs may be required or following damage. Likewise, a maybe requested for your insurance policy.
